Game 2 of the Warriors 2020 season pitted the Warriors against the Braves of Byron in Chatfield HS fields. Although they came back late, the forced errors and blunders were too much to overcome.

Jay Baker took the hill for his first start of the 2020 campaign, started off a bit wild, walking 6 in 3 innings, giving up 5 Runs (3 ER) over that span. He did strike out 2 batters, while only giving up three hits. The defensive faults caused an additional 2 runs to score. Brian McClurg made his Warrior debut on the mound, relieving Jay Baker in the 4th. McClurg had an impressive debut on the mound, throwing 5 innings of 1 hit ball, striking out 7 batters, and walking 6. The Braves scored a total of 6 runs during that span on forced errors. which was the demise of the Warriors in week 2. Chris Weiseman closed out the game, pitching a perfect 9th inning, while striking out 1 batter.

The Purple Bats continued to roll, tallying 8 runs on 9 hits, and drawing 4 walks (3 HBP). Jeremy Marquardt, Chris Weiseman, Brian McClurg, and Jeff Cargill all led the way this week with two hit performances, while Jeff and Chris drove in an additional 2 RBI's each. Nick Vreeman had a solid offensive day, driving in two more runs, while playing small ball. Tim Busch also drove in the other RBI for the Warriors and scored twice. Nick Nelson continued his hot streak, scoring twice along with a hit. Kanen Hudson, making his season debut, went 0-4 with a pair of strikeouts, as he looks to improve his bat in week 3. Nate Vreeman took two for the team, drawing 2 HBP, and scoring a run on the day.

Overall a good offensive performance, great pitching debuts which seen only 4 hits against. The defense definitely showed some rust, but the Warriors look to shed the rust in time for their week 3 game.

The Warriors take on the Rampage again in week 3 at RCTC in Rochester, and look to go to 2-1.
