A big 8th inning was the difference, as the Warriors continue to roll. Week 3 the Warriors take their purple bats to RCTC fields to take on the Rampage for the second time this season. The game was all too close until the 8th inning, where the Warriors scored 9 runs to put the Rampage away, resulting in a 17-8 win.
Chris Weiseman continues his dominating pitching season, picking up the win going 5 innings, striking out 8 batters, allowing a single run on 4 hits. Jeremy Marquardt pitched an inning and 2/3 allowing 7 runs (4 Earned) with a strikeout. The Rampage got back into the game in the 6th inning, getting within a single run. Brian McClurg came in to stop the bleeding, closing out the game in usual dominating fashion striking out 4 in just an inning and a third.
The bats continued to roll, compiling 14 hits and scoring 18 runs in the win. Tim Busch led the game in RBI's with 3, while Nick and Nate Vreeman both had 2 RBI's along with Kanen Hudson (2) and Brian McClurg (2). Jeff Cargill (2), Shane Fox (2), Brian McClurg (2) all led the team in hits, while Nate Vreeman and Kanen Hudson both had doubles in the game, leading additional runs. The Warriors drew a whopping 13 walks, led by team Shane; Howard (2), and Fox (2), and Chris Weiseman added 2 BB's as well. Shane Fox also scored a team leading 3 times in the win. Nick Vreeman and Shane Howard were the only Warrior bats not to reach the hit column, although both reached base and scored runs while playing small ball.
The hot streak continues in week 4 against the Austin Chargers at Marcusen Field on 7/26.
