Another great pitching performance to go along with the 14 Warrior hits lead them to victory over Austin Chargers.

After a brief delay and venue change, the Warriors made their way to Austin to face off against the Austin Chargers. The Warrior purple bats came alive again, compiling 14 hits, scoring 7 runs and leaving with another W. The Warriors move to 2-1 on the season, and look to increase their playoff hopes.

The story once again was the solid pitching performance, Brian McClurg once again dominated, pitching 5 innings of 1 hit ball, striking out 8 batters in the process. McClurg would pick up the win, as the Warriors held on to the lead to close out the game. Newcomer and pitching extraordinaire Adrian Williams picked up the save, closing out the game. He ended with an impressive "4" stat line; 4 IP, 4 H, 4 ER, and 4 K's on the day.

The Warrior bats continued to impress, tallying 7 runs on 14 hits in the victory. Dan Fitzsimmons, in his 2020 debut, lived up to the expectations with a 5 for 5 day, compiling 4 singles, a double, and driving in 3 RBI, and added a steal for good measure. Shane Howard showed off his hitting and his speed, going 2 for 4, while stealing 2 bases, and scoring once. Kanen Hudson had a couple hits to compliment his RBI. Jeff Cargill also swiped two bases on his way to scoring twice, and the highlight of the day, Shane Fox showing off the wheels, stealing 3rd base, which eventually led to a score. Fitzsimmons (3), Nate Vreeman (1), Kanen Hudson (1), Tim Busch (1), and Brian McClurg (1), all drove in runs in the game. Jeremy Marquardt, Adrian Williams, and Nate Vreeman were the only Warrior hitters not in the hit column in the day. Another great performance, and the bats continue to roll.

The Warriors will be home this week in Chatfield as they take on Rochester Clements in a Week 5 matchup for the ages. We look to carry on our championship run. We have 2 games remaining in the COVID shortened season, before a deep playoff run. Hope to see all of our fans in attendance next week.
