After a brief delay to the season, opening day is upon us for the 2020 season. Week 1 pitted the Warriors against their rival, Rochester Rampage at Hudson Field. The Warriors braved the heat in a well-matched/well-played game that resulted in the first 2020 victory for the Warriors.

After trailing 4-1 through 5 innings, the "purple bats" put on a show, tallying 10 runs on 10 hits in an offensive onslaught. Austin Baukol began the season with a strong pitching debut, throwing a complete game (6 R, 4 ER), while striking out 12 and walking 4 batters. He also helped his own cause, accumulating 2 hits, walking once, while come across the plate 3 times.

Nick Nelson raked in this game, going 2 for 5, including a warning track power double, leading to a whopping 5 RBI. Rookie and newcomer Jeff Cargill have an impressive debut, (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI) while scoring twice. Shane Fox, (the OBP machine), went 2 for 3, walked once, drove in 1, and scored 3 times. In a game of small ball, Jay Baker, Nick Vreeman, and Nick Nelson provided RBI's resulting from sacrifice plays.

The Warriors (1-0) will look to improve upon their week 1 performance in week 2, as they face off against the Byron Braves in Byron on 7/12/2020.
